WELCOME
As a parent or carer of a child just beginning at BCSS or as an existing member of the BCSS parent and carer community, welcome to our school and thank you for your ongoing support on behalf of the P&C. BCSS is a small, intimate school community with enormous potential and we look forward to working with you and the teaching team to help the whole school community achieve its goals and have some fun along the way.
The P&C and teaching team have a long track record of successfully working together to deliver excellent educational outcomes for our children, a school teaching and learning environment that is built on teamwork, respect for each other and consideration for everyone’s individual needs. A great example is the playground at BCSS in which the children enjoy a vibrant outdoor playing environment free of bullying, full of wildlife (even in the CBD we have our own playground dwelling pet Curlews) and a culture of care and intolerance of inappropriate behaviour, driven by the children and their “buddy” system.
The committee currently comprises Amanda Woolnough (President), Megan McKenzie(Treasurer) and Alyson Fenton (Secretary). As a Committee responsible to a diverse carer body, many of whom live some distance from the school, we understand that attendance at meetings for many is difficult. One of our core committee beliefs is for an open and honest communication flow to exist between the teaching team, carers and the P&C. To support this, you will find all of the P&C’s information here on the website while we encourage every school community member to contact us with feedback and ideas. An extensive list of ways for you to contact the P&C is detailed below.
The P&C, in its role as an interface between the children’s carers and the teaching staff, needs regular input from the school community to make a difference.

To ensure everyone has the opportunity to have their ideas and comments heard, you are welcome to contact the P and C in person, by phone, by mail or on email (the P&C email is This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) with your thoughts or you are welcome to contact the P&C directly, in total confidence if required:

In person, please speak to Amanda Woolnough who is often around the schoolgrounds in the morning or afternoon.

By phone, please call the school office on 3831 5360 and Amanda will return your call.
By fax, please send all documents to 3831 5360 and they will be placed in the P and C Office.
By mail, please send documents care of the school and they will be placed in the P and C Office Tray.
Amanda is often in the schoolgrounds and this allows a “meeting point” to make information flow efficiently so that contacting the P&C is as simple as possible. We welcome you to join us at the next meeting which is generally held on the first Monday of the month at the school usually at 5.30pm. Please check the school newsletter for the timings of each meeting.
Again thank you for your support of our school and we look forward to meeting you at the next meeting or school community function.
